We went to the Indianapolis Zoo Saturday to celebrate Andy's birthday, and to take Rayna for the first time. Although she did not know too much about what she was looking at (or what was going on around her) she did seem to enjoy the zoo. We went through the "Oceans" exhibit, and she was intrigued by the colors of the fish and followed their movements. The "Plains" area was our favorite part, and our little monkey Rayna enjoyed the monkeys! We completed over visit with getting Rayna her very own stuffed Giraffe and Monkey. Daddy rode home with her in the back of the car and introduced her to her new animals, and she just stared at them the whole time! We also got her the book "Curious George Visits the Zoo," and figured that one day it would be a good memory to share with her. Saturday evening we had Andy's family over for cake and ice cream to celebrate his birthday, and Rayna asked me if she could wear her fancy headband with her outfit. She looked so darn cute, if I do say so myself.
I got Rayna some new patent leather mary janes, and Andy decided to dress her up for me. What a surprise that was! I think she looks like little Bo Peep! She's such a good sport at letting mommy and daddy play "dress up" with her.
Tomorrow night we are going to Grandpa's to celebrate his birthday. October sure is a busy when it comes to birthdays. Just think...next year Rayna will be enjoying cake at all of them!
She is continuing to "talk" more and more to us, and I have never seen a baby smile so much! She has also started making "raspberries" with her mouth (basically it's spit bubbles that come out in clusters and look like raspberries." The development article I have said it is a sign that she is learning how to use her tounge and will later help her in forming words. It's amazingly wonderful to watch all these milestones!
