She's getting soooooo big....

Well, we are just a few days away from 7 months! Where has the time gone? Rayna is getting more and more animated by the day. We went to Grandma Long's house last weekend, and Grandma gave Rayna one of my old dolls. She also got them matching suitcases and outfits. Of course mommy wanted to take pictures, and Rayna was being awfully photogenic as you can see.

A few weeks ago when we had snow we got a chance to put Rayna in her snow suit and take her out in the snow for the first time. She really seems to like being outside, and I think she'll really enjoy playing in the snow this Christmas.

6 months!!

Rayna went for her 6 month check-up on January 19th. She weighed in at 16lbs and measured 26 3/4 inches long! She is in the 50th percentile in weight, and in the 75th percentile in height. I can't believe that she's 6 months already! Time just seems to be flying by! She is rolling over with ease these days, and she is pretty much sitting up on her own these days. From what I've heard and read, it won't be long before she's crawling and all over the place! She seems to really like eating foods now, and her favorite right now is Squash. She seems to love her veggies compared to her fruits. Rayna really enjoys playing with her toys, and she especially loves the dolly that she got from Grandpa Long. I think she might think the doll is real because she just lights up when she sees her! I think she thinks that her friend has come to play with her!

We went to her future husband's 1st birthday party on Saturday, January 23rd, and she enjoyed the party. She got her own set of Mickey Mouse ears, and she even tried a little icing from his birthday cake. She did not seem to like the icing, so maybe she'll be just like daddy and hate sweets. It was a fun day, and it made me realize in 6 months we'll be having hers. Geesch! That seems like right around the corner!

All is well here...just wishing for some spring weather so that we can play outside. Rayna really seems to like looking outside and being outside, so it will be nice to get her out there again.

We made it through the Holidays!

Well, we made it through the holidays, and Rayna sure had a great and eventful holiday season. In the month of December she started rolling over, and she is getting quicker and quicker each day! She also has started eating her first foods, and seems to really have the hang of how to keep them in better now. The picture with the Sweet Potatoes all over her face were how the first few feedings went! Needless to say - we had bath time about everyday then!
Rayna has really taken a liking to her Exersaucer. She LOVES to bounce!!! It is so funny to watch her really get going. Rayna also has discovered her feet, and can put them in her mouth now. Diaper changes have become REALLY interesting between her trying to eat her feet and roll off the changing table! And I can imagine they will only get better!
Rayna really made out at Christmas! She got toys, clothes, and tons of other stuff! And I was really surprised that she was able to tear the wrapping paper herself. She was more interested in the paper than in the presents. I guess it's true - a box and paper always seems to satisfy them more than gifts! haha!
Rayna has her 6 month visit on January 19th, so I'll try and post an updated weight and height then. We hope that you all are well and made it through the holiday season just fine!

Santa's Little Helper....

My how times flies! Rayna will 5 months in just about a week!!! And she is continuing to change each and every day! Right now the biggest things are that she is wanting to sit up more and more...not that she can sit all on her own yet, but she's getting there! We started using her "exersaucer" this past month, and she LOVES it! It enables her to stand and play with some different toys. And it sure is nice for mommy and daddy, too, to have something to occupy her a little bit. She was sure getting bored with just being held :0). She is "talking" a whole lot more, and recently we swear she said "uh-oh" one morning after waking up. Kind of ironic that she had a little "present" in her diaper for us. Rayna got to meet Great Grandpa Hilbert, Great Grandma Werner and Great Grandpa Werner during November. I am so happy that we were able to all get together!
Rayna was 13lbs 13oz and 25 inches long at her last doctor appointment (November 17th), and the doctor said that she was developing beautifully! She was in the 50th percentile in weight and 75th percentile in height. She's still keeping with my prediction that she's going to be tiny and tall! The doctor said I could try some food, but didn't need to because she was developing just fine. We did try cereal, sweet potatoes and carrots. She seems to hate them all! haha! So, I thought we would give her another month or so and try again.
Rayna celebrated her first Thanksgiving at Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Werners. Everyone was there and it was so nice to celebrate the holidays together! The food was delicious, and Rayna will be excited to enjoy it next year! I can't believe that we're already almost to Christmas! Ray just LOVES all the lights that we have up, and really enjoys the Christmas tree! I can not wait to see her on Christmas with her presents. That will be a real treat!

Some other things that she is doing now is somewhat holding onto her bottle, she's discovered that she has feet, and I think she's beginning to learn her name. She still LOVES music and when mommy sings to her! Although, she loves when anyone sings to her actually :0).

We hope all is well with you and your families this holiday season, and I hope to post more around Christmas time! Love to you all!

4 Months Old and Growing!!!

Rayna has her 4 month doctor appointment Monday, November 17th! I can't wait to see how much she has grown, and hopefully she'll get the doctor's ok to start on cereal and her first foods. She has started to try and hold her own bottle. She can hold onto it pretty well! She continues to babble, and really, really loves music! It's amazing how much she's changing every day, and I love watching it! We are anxiously anticipating the holidays! We hope all is well with you and your families!

Our Little Monkey and her Pumpkins

Tonight - Tuesday, October 28th - we carved Rayna's pumpkins. It sure was fun carving her first set of pumpkins! We carved one with her name in it, and the other just has a happy jack o lantern face. She was quite interested in them - especially once I showed her them lit up in the dark. As you can see from the pictures, she is going to be a monkey for Halloween. I wish I could have caught one of her smiles, but she was more interested in chewing on her costume - haha. Smile or not - she still makes a pretty cute monkey!

Rayna has her pumpkins!!

Saturday we went and got our pumpkins in Brookston. Rayna didn't quite know what was going on, but she kept looking around at all the orange things on the ground! Now we just need to get them carved...
